Welcome to Mad Men Week! Every day this week, I’m celebrating the March 25 return of “Mad Men” with a recipe inspired by the show. Today’s Jameson and Ginger is inspired by Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce’s younger creatives, whose office is stocked with Jameson and soft drinks.
Let’s say you’re not a Guinness person. But you’re not a green beer person, either.
You have standards.
This St. Patrick’s Day, try a Jameson and Ginger. It’s bubbly and refreshing, and it takes about 10 seconds to make one at home.
You in?
Just put some ice in a glass, and add a heaping shot of Jameson Irish Whiskey. Then fill the glass with ginger ale, squeeze a lime wedge over the top, and drop it in.
Bubbly and refreshing, with a kick.
To really rock this drink, memorize a traditional Irish toast: sláinte! It’s pronounced “SLAHN-chuh,” and it means “to your health” or “cheers.” (You can listen to an audio clip here.)
As always, drink responsibly. And, sláinte!
P.S. Mad Men Week isn’t officially affiliated with AMC or “Mad Men.” It’s something we do for fun.
